Your support will ensure these girls stay in school, complete their education and break the cycle of poverty.
Details and
BACKGROUND
Menstrual health remains a critical issue affecting the education and well-being of many young girls, particularly in rural areas. At Agage Village School in Siaya, 160 girls from underprivileged backgrounds face challenges in accessing basic menstrual hygiene products. Due to financial constraints, these girls often miss school during their periods, negatively impacting their education and confidence.
Projekt
OBJECTIVE
This proposal seeks to raise funds to provide each girl at Agage Village School with: • Sanitary towels (1 pack per month) at a cost of Ksh 60 per pack • Underwear at a cost of Ksh 100 per panty By ensuring access to these essentials, we aim to: • Improve school attendance and academic performance. • Promote menstrual hygiene and prevent infections. • Boost self-esteem and dignity among young girls.
Target
BENEFICIARIES
• 160 girls currently enrolled at Agage Village School in Siaya.
• Additional girls who may join the school or need emergency supplies.
Longterm
PLAN
To break the cycle of poverty and boost the confidence of the girls, we are planning on having reusable/washable sanitary towels and also teach the girls how to use menstrual cups which may be affordable compared to disposable sanitary towels.
SUCCESS STORY….
Agage Village School
We have provided three large water tanks so the girls can wash their reusable menstrual pads. Previously, more than 300 students had to share just one water tank.
For one year, we provided the girls with disposable sanitary pads, underwear, and towels. They have now received reusable menstrual underwear from us – supporting better hygiene, dignity, and a more sustainable solution.
How can you HELP?
GIVE FOR DIGNITY AND A FUTURE
We invite individuals, organizations, and well-wishers to contribute to this noble cause. Donations can be made in cash or in-kind (sanitary towels/Menstrual cups and underwear). Your support will ensure these girls stay in school, complete their education, and break the cycle of poverty.
By supporting this initiative, you will be playing a direct role in empowering young girls, fostering their academic success, and promoting dignity. We appreciate your generosity and commitment to making a difference.
